What is a Booru?

A “Booru” is an imageboard-style website where users upload and tag images or videos to make them easier to browse.
Many boorus are anime-themed, but anyone can host a booru about any topic.

Mignori can connect to many of these sites, allowing you to browse them and build local collections with the same tags used on the original booru.

Fairese LLC, the creators of Mignori, do not host or operate any booru websites.

What does Mignori do?

Mignori is a native iOS app designed to browse booru-style websites with speed, clarity, and a focus on comfort.
It aims to provide a polished interface for searching, organizing, and enjoying art from the boorus you choose.

Does Mignori host any boorus?

No. Mignori is only a client.
It does not host content, operate booru servers, or provide any built-in list of boorus.

Does Mignori support NSFW content?

Mignori does not control what content booru operators allow.
It works similarly to a web browser: you decide which boorus you add, and each booru has its own rules.

Parents concerned about content should treat Mignori like an advanced browser and use device-level parental controls.

If I was removed from TestFlight, can I rejoin?

Yes.
Inactive testers are periodically removed to free slots for new users, but you can rejoin anytime as long as space is available.

How often are inactive testers removed?

There is no set schedule.
Cleanups may occur every few months or whenever test slots need to be freed.

How inactive do I have to be before being removed?

Testers who have not opened the app for about one month are eligible for removal.

Once a tester reaches the inactivity threshold, removal order is not guaranteed.
Testers may be removed in any order after they reach the threshold.

What information is collected from TestFlight users?

At this stage, none.
TestFlight does not provide your email or name; testers appear only as anonymous entries.

We can only see:

Mignori currently collects no analytics, though optional analytics may be added later to improve stability and server compatibility.

How do I add a booru?

Enter the booru’s hostname (for example: https://mybooru.net) and tap Check Compatibility.
Mignori will attempt to detect the booru type and configure it automatically.

Some boorus require authentication or special parameters. Mignori will guide you when possible.

How do I configure an unknown or unsupported server?

If automatic detection fails, you can configure the server manually.

You may need:

Mignori allows saving a server even if detection fails, so you can experiment and test it.

If you need help, the Fairese Discord server community is very knowledgeable.

How do I add my account to a booru that requires authentication?

Boorus differ widely in how authentication works, but most do not require your raw username and password.

Example:
Some Booru sites provide an API key at /index.php?page=account&s=options.

Due to this variety, Mignori cannot provide universal instructions, but the community can help.

Does Mignori support every booru?

Not yet.

Some boorus cannot be supported due to:

We investigate every reported booru.
If support is possible, we add it; if not, we explain why.

Why can’t I see some images or videos?

Possible reasons include:

Mignori includes advanced developer-style options (like custom headers) to help in some cases.

If a booru behaves inconsistently, contact us.

How does Mignori use my local storage?

Mignori uses:

Mignori always prefers saving the highest resolution image or video available.

Saving to the device’s Camera Roll uses local photo storage.
If you have iCloud Photo Library enabled, photos you save to your Camera Roll from Mignori will also count toward your iCloud Photos storage.

How does Mignori use cloud storage?

During beta, iCloud sync is disabled.
A future update will sync:

These will consume your iCloud storage.

Can Mignori upload posts to my booru?

No.
Mignori is intentionally read-only.
Anything you save stays on your device (and iCloud when sync is added).

Can I sync my collections across devices?

Not yet.
iCloud sync will be added later in development.

Why doesn’t donating unlock premium features?

Donations are meant purely to support development and help keep the project moving forward.

If you enjoy Mignori and want to support its continued development, donating is a way to do so — without tying that support to features or rewards.

Legally, donations cannot be tied to digital goods or functionality. Once a donation unlocks features, it is no longer considered a donation and becomes a paid digital product, which introduces tax and platform compliance requirements.

For this reason, donations do not unlock features. Premium functionality, when introduced, will be offered through official App Store in-app purchases.

When will Mignori be released on the App Store?

There is no estimated release date.
Mignori is a high-priority project, but development must be balanced with full-time jobs and life obligations.

We are working on the app more actively than ever, and user feedback heavily shapes development.

Mignori has been in development for years — why?

When Mignori originally started, it was a side project. Shortly after, real life took priority: full-time work, responsibilities, and limited time meant the project moved slowly and, at times, paused entirely.

Mignori 3 eventually entered maintenance mode, with no new features added. The current version of Mignori is a complete rewrite, built from scratch for modern iOS and long-term support.

Rewrites take time, especially when developed alongside full-time work, but this foundation is significantly stronger and designed to support the app for years to come.

Will Mignori come to Android?

No — not at this time.
There are no plans for an Android release.

What are Collections?

Collections (upcoming feature) let you save your favorite posts — images or videos — directly into Mignori.

You can browse them offline, sort them, and filter them by tags, similar to running your own private mini-booru inside the app.
